Galvanise at 469 Bethnal Green Road has won two awards at the Architect’s Journal Architecture Awards 2025. As well as winning in its nominated category, Refurb (over £10 million), the project was also awarded Design of the Year, one of the three top prizes honouring the best entries across all categories.
The judges commented that, ‘It’s a bold and confident design and the play between new and old was particularly well judged, as well as that, ‘What has been created here is not just an inspired reimagining of a relatively mundane building as mini-landmark, but a replicable model for inner-city workspace regeneration.’
The project revitalised an aging building to create modern, bright office space, and doubled the height of the existing warehouse utilising latent capacity to retain the entire original frame.
