We were commissioned by BT PLC to provide a structural and geotechnical engineering appraisal for various development options for the current site prior to a planned sale of the site.
The development options included exploring the addition of multiple levels to the top of the building and internal floor plate extensions to create additional commercial space. A further option included the complete redevelopment of the existing site. Site constraints included the close proximity of underlying tunnels and St. Paul’s Station.
Significant design time was allocated to verifying the retention of the existing raft foundation for all the proposed redevelopment options which included developing a geotechnical ground movement model to assess the impact of any redevelopment on neighboring TFL assets.
