30-31 Philbeach Gardens

The Philbeach Gardens development involves the restoration and refurbishment of a derelict hotel building in West London to create a new apartments. These works include repair works and strengthening to the existing structure while extending the building to the rear.

The 19th Century residential buildings are of traditional masonry and timber construction typical of their age, four storeys high with a single level basement level. The proposed works include extension of the basement with a reinforced concrete basement wall and construction of a new four storey extension using similar traditional building materials as the existing.

The original structure had undergone haphazard structural intervention during its lifetime and exhibited signs of infestation and rot. Through a sensitive approach to the building restoration and a careful and comprehensive specification of repair works to limit replacement of materials, Davies Maguire were able to deliver value to the client.
